Rydvall Mjelva Carr

Rydvall Mjelva Carr brings together three leading voices in Nordic music—Erik Rydvall on nyckelharpa, Olav Luksengård Mjelva on hardanger fiddle, and Ale Carr on cittern. After years of meeting on the road and inspiring each other’s work, the trio has formed a new collaboration rooted in the musical traditions of Sweden and Norway.

Their sound merges the resonance of Nordic folk with the refined detail of chamber and baroque influences. With a shared focus on craftsmanship, improvisation, and melodic depth, they explore Scandinavian tunes with both precision and imagination.

Rydvall and Mjelva have contributed to major film and game productions including The Lord of the Rings, Loki, and God of War, while Carr is widely known for his work with Dreamers’ Circus and collaborations across the Nordic and international music scenes.

Together, they shape a contemporary expression of Nordic tradition—three master musicians creating a vibrant and unmistakable sound.
